**✨ The Tragic Case of Medusa ✨**
*Not a monster. A victim. A warning. A symbol.*
Once, Medusa was a mortal woman—beautiful, kind, and devoted to the goddess Athena. She served in Athena’s temple, living a life of purity and peace.
But her beauty caught the eye of Poseidon, god of the sea.
And one day, in that sacred temple, he assaulted her.
Yes—*assaulted*. A god. In a place meant to be safe.
Instead of protecting her, Athena punished her.
Not Poseidon. **Her.**
She turned Medusa into a Gorgon—snake hair, deadly eyes, cursed to live alone, feared and hated by the world.
Her only crime?
Being beautiful.
Being vulnerable.
Being *a woman*.
Years later, the “hero” Perseus was sent to kill her.
He didn’t fight her. He *snuck in* while she slept.
And he cut off her head.
They called it a victory.
They called *her* a monster.
But what was Medusa, really?
A girl who was hurt. Then punished. Then silenced.
Yet her story still lives.
And today, we see her clearly—not as a villain, but as a symbol.
Of survival. Of rage. Of justice long overdue.
Medusa didn’t deserve to be feared.
She deserved to be believed.

"..I grow snakes
for hair to hold
the venom
secreted
from this heart,
loaded too heavily
with all they hate
about themselves.
And if they hiss
it's only because
like any monster, I've
long since lost
my own right
to scream"
